A Special Interest Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management

If you are like most organizations, there is much more that can and should be done to identify, attract and hire candidates.  Why is finding matching talent for your open positions so difficult? Well, as the economy improves and employers create more and more opportunities, employees simply have more options…and in many cases these potential prospects are “passive” candidates…making the hunt for talent even more challenging.

What can be done?  Having a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that is comprised of sourcing, recruiting, talent pipelining, internship development, university relations, onboarding, professional development training, employee engagement, and retention is paramount.  Each area of focus mentioned requires its own strategy that rolls-up and adds synergy to the enterprise-wide organizational talent acquisition strategy.  This is where the Staffing Management Association (SMA) of Southern New England excels.  SMA is comprised of local, Connecticut HR Professionals from diverse industries with multiple areas of expertise.

With a special focus on Talent Acquisition, SMA is proudly affiliated with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and offers professional development programs for HR and Recruiting professionals.
